1976 PORSCHE 911 SC – RSR TRIBUTE
KEY FACTS
This Porsche 911 SC is a rewarding classic air-cooled sports car, which has been transformed into an attention-grabbing tribute to the legendary 1970s Carrera RSR race car.
Under the rear engine lid now sits a 1989 911 Carrera-sourced naturally aspirated 3.2-litre air-cooled flat-six, which sends its power to the rear wheels via a five-speed ‘Type 915’ manual transmission.
This right-hand-drive example started life as a 911 SC model, which underwent an extensive transformation sometime after 2008, turning it into an eye-catching tribute to the 1970s Carrera RSR race car.
The car was first registered in the UK.
The odometer indicates 54,473 Kms
Build year: 1976
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This 911 SC is now presented in the striking shade of Viper Green with contrasting black ‘Porsche’ side and rear decals, over a black leather and leatherette-trimmed interior.
It rides on a set of 16-inch 8.5J front and 10.5J rear lightweight three-piece Fuchs-style aluminium alloy wheels finished in black with grey ‘petal’ spokes and barrels, fitted with mixed Nankang tyres.
Externally, this example has been fitted with RSR-style front and rear bumpers, extended front and rear wheel arches, a ‘ducktail’ rear spoiler, and has had the side trims removed.
Equipment now includes a rare period-correct Porsche Design Momo steering wheel, Singer-style front and rear seats with metal ventilation holes, a Modena Engineering gated shifter with a Momo gear knob, a Blaupunkt Hannover cassette stereo, a top-tinted windscreen, simplified door cards with red fabric pulls, electric windows, Rennline aluminium floorboards and pedals, and a front strut brace.
The car comes with a space-saver spare wheel and two sets of keys.

SERVICE HISTORY
The last maintenance was performed in December 2024 at an indicated 53,550 Kms by Mike Davis Automotive, which consisted of an engine oil and filter change, a new air filter, and all new fuel injectors.
The gearbox was completely rebuilt in 2021 by a Porsche gearbox specialist in Melbourne.
A major overhaul was carried out over a 14-year period, which included a respray, an interior retrim, a major engine overhaul including a full service and gasket replacements, the brake callipers reconditioned, all new brake discs fitted, the alloy wheels restored, and new sound proofing and rubber seals fitted in the engine bay.
